MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION
March 18, 2009
     
Call to
Order		  

Mr. Curtis called the special meeting of the Lewis Cass Intermediate School District Board of Education to order at 2:00 p.m. in Conference Room #1 of the Administrative Services Center on Wednesday, March 18, 2009.
     
Roll Call  

Members present:         Ms. Adams, Ms. Simmons, Mr. Curtis, Mr. Maager, Mr. Hart (arrived 2:45 p.m.)

Members absent:           None

Administrators present:  Mr. Ostrowski, Mr. DeVos
     
Declaration
of a Quorum		  

Mr. Curtis declared a quorum of the Board.
     
Pledge to
the Flag		   Pledge to the Flag was recited.
     
Approval of Agenda  

Moved by Ms. Simmons, supported by Mr. Maager, to approve the agenda as presented.  All in favor.  Motion carried.
     
Approval of
Minutes		   Moved by Ms. Adams, supported by Mr. Maager, to approve the minutes of March 11, 2009, as presented.  All in favor.  Motion carried.
     
Presentations   The Board heard presentations from the following superintendent search firms:  Gene Young from MASB; Dr. W. Craig Misner from Michigan Leadership Institute; and Terre Davis from TD & Associates.  Discussion followed.
     
Search Firms  

Moved by Mr. Maager, supported by Ms. Simmons, to enter into negotiations with Michigan Leadership Institute as a consulting firm regarding selection of a new superintendent. 

Roll Call Vote.  Ayes:  Mr. Curtis, Mr. Maager, Ms. Simmons, Ms. Adams, Mr. Hart

                          Nays:  None

All in favor.     Motion carried.
     
Adjournment  

Moved by Mr. Hart, supported by Ms. Adams, to adjourn at 7:03 p.m.  All in favor.  Motion carried.
