Cass County’s Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a high quality preschool program for children who will be four years of age on or before September 1. The focus of GSRP is to work together with parents to ensure children  come to school ready to learn through a high quality preschool experience.

How Much Does It Cost?

This is a state funded program and may be offered to families for free or at a nominal fee.

Preparing Children

The GSRP uses the Creative Curriculum to help children develop a strong interest in learning and guide instruction.  Each classroom offers a developmentally appropriate setting for 16-18 children.  Low staff child ratios of 1 adult to 8 children help to ensure high quality adult/child support throughout the day.

Staff use the Brigance Screening tool and Teaching Strategies Gold to track each child’s developmental progress over time and set individual and classroom goals for instruction.

Parental Involvement

GSRP recognizes that parents are a child’s first teacher.  Staff and parents work together to foster partnerships that will benefit each child’s journey in education and the future. Home Visits and Parent/Teacher Conferences provide parents and staff an opportunity to share important information about each child’s development.  Parents can join the Parent Advisory Committee, attend Data Meetings, attend Family Nights and volunteer in a variety of ways.
