These are areas where we provide direct service and learning opportunities to the students of our county.

SPELLING BEE:  We essentially "produce and direct" our county's 30+ years tradition of the Spelling Bee.  Open to 4th through 8th grade students.

ELEMENTARY SCIENCE OLYMPIAD: This is a more creative and learning-oriented version of Science Olympiad than the one for Junior and Senior high students. Our county's version is designed for 3rd through 5th grade students.

MATH-A-RAMA: As with all of our youth programs, we produce/direct this special "competition" that resembles the competition of older students. This program serves 3rd through 5th graders.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH MEET: LCISD produces and directs this more seriously competitive mathematics meet for more than 300 6th through 8th grade students from Cass, Berrien, St. Joe, and Van Buren counties.

YOUNG WRITERS' DAY: LCISD produces/directs this fine celebration of student writing both by exhibiting literally hundreds of student works, and by introducing our children to published authors and illustrators, as well as leading storytellers. Open to 2nd through 6th grades.

REGIONAL SCIENCE OLYMPIAD: Our region includes three counties and has been held at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in recent years.
